I have been totally obsessed with old cars from the age
of three. I’m now in my late fifties. I bought my first
MG SA in 1971 from a scrapyard. I still haven’t quite
finished restoring it, but have since restored about 155
other SVW cars. (There are only about 650 known survivors
worldwide).
I trained as a research biologist, and was a lecturer in
biology for 12 years. But the hobby, started in 1971, gradually
took over, becoming a part-time business in 1978, and my
full time occupation in 1985, so SVW has been running now
for 28 years.
The SVW staff of five, work in a modern 6,500 sq ft factory
unit in the quiet East Yorkshire village of Burstwick near
Hull . It’s not quite the centre of the universe, but
very convenient for ferry access to the continent via P&O
North Sea Ferries. The Hull/Rotterdam ferry terminal is only
five miles away. Click HERE for
